Shaheen-1 short-range ballistic missile
(Pakistan)
Unveiled in 1999, the Shaheen-1 (also called Hatf-4) was developed with Chinese assistance. The TEL (transporter/erector/launcher) is the Russian MAZ-543 8x8, which is also used by some North Korean and Iranian missile designs. Pakistan claims the missile has a rudimentary warhead-maneuverability system, which may give it some protection against ABM systems like the American Patriot PAC-3 or Israeli Arrow.
