FFG F22P class

F22P frigate project

(Pakistan)

Notes: In late September 2004, Pakistan unveiled plans for four new frigates, to be built either in China, or in Pakistan with Chinese assistance. The ships are hoped to commission between 2011 and 2015. The design is apparently a much updated variation on the Chinese Jiangwei II class. The SAM armament is likely to change from the HHQ-7 shown on the scale model. Much of the information is preliminary, and the whole project depends on Pakistan securing a $1 billion loan from China.
