MRP-11 (“Bell Clout”) and MRP-12 (“Bell Slam”) ESM
(USSR)
Notes: These two systems are not necessarily inter-related but described together due to their similar age and role.
MRP-11 (“Bell Clout”) was the larger of the two antennas and usually carried by mid-sized and large combatants, for example on larger ships (cruisers, helicopter carriers) fitted with the “Side Globe” ECM, “Bell Clout” was the associated passive ESM element.
MRP-12 (“Bell Slam”) could be fitted to any size ship and was most commonly seen aboard destroyers.
Both systems were replaced by later ESM antennas and neither is in service any longer.
