Notes: These destroyer tenders were based on a C3 type cargo ship hull. The dates shown above for Everglades are correct, the ship was completed directly into mothballs, not commissioning until six years later. Klondike served as the 19th Fleet flagship from 1945-1955. For many years after her decommissioning, Everglades was used as a floating barracks by sailors assigned caretaker duty at NISMF Philadelphia.
Combat usage: Klondike was stationed in South Vietnam briefly and participated in the 1969 Tet counteroffensive.
